Dolny Śląsk (Lower Silesia)
The Sleza mountain was used for pagan worship in Celtic times and was later settled by an unknown Slav tribe (who named the mountain and Silesia itself). Situated on its slopes are several mysterious ancient sculptures and carvings whose origins and symbolism is not known.
Swidnica - Gothic church with the highest tower in Lower Silesia (103m) and precious gothic equipment, evangelic Peace Church of 17th century, with nodging pieces and - one of the biggest wooden churches in Europe, museum of weapons and military equipment, Neptune wells.
Klodzko 10th century town, well preserved medieval town layout, the 16th century fortress on the Fortress Mountain - a complex of ramparts, casemates and mysterious labyrinths, gothic church, the oldest Polish stone bridge, constructed in 14th century, Baroque Franciscan church, the underground tourist route located under the old part of the town
These, who prefer active holidays, surely find something for themselves in Lower Silesia. If you want to know the region and at the same time to grow stronger, you can follow the special tourist routes (one of them runs through the area full of the Piast dynasty castles), you can also ride the bike along the prepared routes or to sail on the canoe routes
On lowland areas, in the northern part of region there is one of the biggest forest complex in Poland - Bory Dolnoslaskie with the area of 150 thousands ha and neighbouring Milickie Woods; the latter are famous for their big fish pools, built in Medieval times. This area is also the biggest European birds sanctuary.

In Sudety Mountains there are popular winter sport centres: Karpacz and Szklarska Poreba in Karkonosze range and Czarna Gora located in Klodzko Valley with numerous ski routes such as: 4.5 km long ski run "Lolobrigida".


Vang stave church (Swiatynia Wang) is a stave church transferred from and re-erected in the outskirts of in the Karkonosze mountains.

The church is a four-post single-nave stave church originally built around 1200 in the parish of Vang in the Valdres region of Norway
